Immunizations and Wellness Care - To keep your pet healthy, at least one yearly examination including immunizations and various testing is recommended. For dogs, it is necessary to test for heartworms annually and to stay current on heartworm prevention between tests. Monthly heartworm prevention not only protects the heart of your pet but also decreases the likelihood that your pet will have gastrointestinal (GI) parasites. Testing for heartworms is a simple blood test performed at the clinic and reviewed at the laboratory.
Cats are rarely given heartworm prevention and because of this there is a greater need to test for heartworms and GI parasites. Other recommended tests include Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunosuppressive Virus tests to understand the health of your pet. Repeated tests may be necessary for outdoor cats, and when introducing new kittens to the household to minimize transmission and infections. All of these tests can be performed in the clinic with results in minutes.

Surgeries – Various surgeries are performed at ABC from spays and neuters, to more complicated orthopedics and soft tissue procedures. For a detailed estimate for all surgeries and procedures, please call our office to schedule an appointment for a Pre-Surgical Examination; this examination is required before any pet undergoes any anesthetic procedure.

**Animals scheduled for surgery, should be dropped off the evening prior to their scheduled surgery date before 5:00 PM and most patients can be picked up the following day between 3:30 PM and 5 PM.**
Dental Cleanings – Healthy teeth for your pet increases their life expectancy. Annual Dental Cleanings will improve the quality of life and increase the likelihood of keeping your pet's teeth longer. In order to prevent your pet from developing periodontal disease, or to help control existing problems, dental cleanings are recommended every year, or sooner, as determined by a veterinarian. Cleanings start at $120. Tooth extractions and antibiotics may be needed for moderate to severe dental disease. A Pre-Surgical Examination is required to develop a formal estimate on all pets that have dental disease.
In-House Diagnostics (Including Digital X-rays) – With the improvement of technology and our doctor's 25 years of experience, ABC Animal Clinic is a reliable and trustworthy source for diagnostic interpretation and performance, that is also economical. To help diagnose your pet, ABC can perform certain laboratory procedures in-house while you wait. Some of these include heartworm testing for canines and felines, fecal testing, certain blood chemistries and blood cell counts, as well as dermatological scrapings and ocular staining. More complicated cases will require samples to be sent to an outside lab which generally provides results in 12-24 hours.
Additionally, our digital X-ray imaging equipment can assist our doctor in diagnosing your pet's illness or injury quickly and accurately. Radiographic imaging pricing starts at $69.50 for one image, and $42.75 for each additional image. Most radiographic examinations require two or more images to create a three dimensional understanding.
On-site Pharmacy – ABC offers a wide range of medications in stock so there is no wait and no second trip to start your pet’s treatment. For those considering online pharmacies, please read Online Pet Pharmacies Protect Yourself and Your Pet, released by the FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine and search online pharmacy buyer beware statements. This will provide numerous reports concerning online pharmacies that well all want to avoid. Our hospital does not support online pharmacies because of these dynamic changes that occur constantly, and in turn, cause problems with the care and treatment of our pets.
Nutritional Counseling – Is your pet under or overweight? Our professional staff will help you develop a plan of action that educates and empowers you to elevate the quality and extend your pet’s life, many times without even changing their favorite food. ABC's staff members will support your pet's dietary needs in many ways, including consulting for prescription diets and treats that are available for purchase. Good nutrition is the first step to a healthy pet.
Behavioral Counseling – Many of our patients and clients need support in behavioral counseling and advice. There is no doubt, some cases are easier than others to manage, however, our goals are centered around creating the best foundation for you and your pet to succeed in a healthy relationship. At ABC, our doctor and staff want to help with the needs of your personal situations. Uncover your ability to understand and train your own pet with our help and guidance. Many of us have learned to raise children through watching our parents, so why not learn from a veterinarian how to raise our four-legged friends? Not only might you and your pet succeed from our tips and tricks, but our doctor also can recommend anti-anxiety medications and drug therapies for your pets with more specialized needs. Ask specifically for behavior counseling or anxiety concerns as you set your appointment with our staff.
Boarding – Pricing for regular boarding starts at $16 per night for both cats and dogs, but will vary depending on the weight of your animal. Accommodations can be made for any special needs your pet has, like medications or physical disabilities or necessary medical treatments.
ABC Animal Clinic also offers an upgraded boarding experience. Have your pets stay at our brand new Stables. The six foot by eight foot runs are spacious and luxurious for any size animal to spend the night in. Our rustic Stables can house multiple pets from the same household so best friends do not have to be separated. Your pet will feel the vacation vibes, just like you! Pricing begins at $30 per night and discounted rates for multiple pets is available.
All pets boarding with us must be current on all vaccinations. For dogs this includes Rabies, Distemper Parvo, Bordetella, Corona, and Lyme vaccinations. For cats this includes Rabies, Feline Leukemia and Feline Distemper (PCRC). It is highly recommended that you bring your animal's own food while they stay with us. Changing food can cause stress, decreased appetites, and illness in your pets. We provide food and water bowls, bedding, and all the TLC needed for your pet during their stay.
Microchip – We can implant your pet with a microchip and even set up your first year of membership with Home Again. These microchips will be active for the life of your pet. The extra benefits that you recieve with a membership can be renewed yearly. Please call for detailed prices on this service.
Traveling Abroad – Are you building frequent flier miles with FiFi or Rover? Do you need a health certificate and/or an acclimation certificate for your trip to the in-laws? For our world travelers, testing and quarantining may be necessary for your trip. Generally, a USDA certified veterinarian is required to complete your plans.
